Lush and sweet...WoJ GDT Call

Here it is as promised, my card for the WoJ GDT Call that Katharina is holding. As I said yesterday my card was already done and needed only to be photographed, which was not such an easy task at all. I always keep feeling I haven´t fully managed to capture the true essence of a card... well of course a picture is only a poor substitute of the real thing. Ok now I´m babling, let´s get back to business and on to my card which isn´t just what you see in the first picture.

It´s a folder with pockets and gift tags.

I chose to use gorgeous Willow Writing Recipes stamp as the main image, but I think in my card she is writing a diary dreaming of someone special rather than writing recipes. Those gorgeous, lush, velvety papers are from Basic Grey...I just love the muted tones in them. As for my colouring I of course used my beloved Promarkers, the brown and pink tones only this time to create a harmonious and romantic colour combination. I did lots of distressing sanding the edges of my dp´s and also gave my scissors and distress inks ago. I didn´t make my own flowers this time as I found these lovely paper flowers from a craft store I visited the other day and just had to use them right away. They are actually my first shop bought flowers anywhere...I know I´ll need to buy some more soon as I fell in love...again LOL. I added a bit of ink to the flowers to make them a bit more worn down (I also crunched the largest one quite hard to make it more flat).

Here´s a few close-ups of the tags I made. On to the tags I stamped and masked this cute Dove from Whiff of Joy`s wedding and baby collection. The background is stamped with a script background stamp.

I also want to show what the card´s like from the outside. So let us start again right from the beginning:

Here´s the front...

...and the back.
The card is held together with a piece of linen string I threaded through some cotton lace (the lace is coloured with Promarkers to make it fit perfectly the colouring of the images). Yesterday I promised my card would feature 5 Whiff of Joy stamps... did you come to the same conclusion? So my WoJ stamps in this card were Willow writing recipes, the dove, Melinda´s heart and two sentiments designed by Katharina herself.

Now I guess all that´s left to do is cross my fingers and hope I get picked.

(This card also fits the current challenge and DT call at Simon Says Stamp and the lots of layering challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar.)

  2. Kerrassaan mykistävä kokonaisuus. Ihanat kukat. Komeat boordit. Upea paperi. Herttainen leimakuva ja sen rauhallinen väritys. Kaikki juuri oikeilla paikoillaan.
