Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge #4 DT card...photo inspiration

Hello and welcome to the fourth Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge. Yes... a week has again flown by really fast, we all loved visiting your blogs to see what gorgeous creations you had come up with Karen´s lovely images.

This week we are going about the challenge a bit differently. We have an inspiration picture for you...and this weeks challenge is a joint one, meaning that all 4 countries will be using the same photo inspiration, suggested by Marley from the Netherlands Design Team. So please stop by each of the challenge blogs to check out what their team members have created (links are on my right sidebar).

And here comes the inspiration picture...

As you may have noticed I took the stripes and the colours and also the fluffines of the bed and... So you can use the picture in any way you wish, whether you are inspired by the colours or just the shapes, or the theme for that matter. I wanted to make an Easter card still so I used sweet Tulip Bunny in my card. I used Promarkers to colour the image and added lots of embellishments. The papers are from my stash, got them from my mom and don´t really know the make of them.

That´s all for now...tune in tomorrow as it´s time for Karen´s Doodles Easter Blog Hop...and not just one I might add. Still as you are waiting to start hopping take a while crafting, I´d really like to see what you come up with our inspiration photo.

So see you later...!

Stamp with Fun #52 DT card and some great news

Hello stamping friends! It´s monday and time for a new Stamp with Fun challenge. This week it´s sketch time again, go check the sketch and start crafting.

I went searching through my paper stash and found some neglected Basic Grey papers and decided to make a masculine card for a change. I used an image from Whiff of Joy in my card, coloured the image with Promarkers. This quite easily leads me to my great news...I just heard that Katharina has chosen me, along with three very talented ladies, to be a Guest Desinger for Whiff of Joy for April and May. YAY! I´m so excited and can´t really believe I made it, there were so many lovely entries. Gongratulations to the other three girls!

Ok so that was that for now. So do go take a look at the sketch we have for you this week and start crafting. See you later!

ASFOS #96: Bookmark this!

Here´s a card I made the other day. I made it to fit the current challenge at
A Spoon Full of Sugar which is "Bookmark this". My bookmark is quite large (the whole card´s 12,5x12,5cm)...well maybe not so much lengthwise but it is a bit wide as the sentiment and borders stick out a bit.

The image, flowers and sentiment are all from WoJ and I have coloured the girl and the flowers with Promarkers. I also added some UTEE and sparkle to the flowers. The papers are from MME´s Wild Asparagus paper pad.

Here´s an image to show what the cards like without the bookmark. Simple isn´t it.

Bye all and thanks for looking! Have a great weekend.

Stamp Something DT card...something with doodles

How fast does the time really fly by...it´s friday again and we have a new Stamp Something challenge for you. This week we´d like to see you dabble with some doodles. So get your pens out and start doodling.

I used to be a big "doodler" before but I have managed to restrain myself a bit lately. Somehow I found it hard to get back into the doodling mojo and everything I tried looked a tad weird. That´s why I went with just a handwritten sentiment and a small flower...and my image is a doodle in itself, a Karen´s Doodle nontheless. I used my Promarkers to colour the image and the small flower I doodled. The papers are from Basic Grey. I used my MS Arch lattice border punch again and embellished my creation with only some half pearls.

Now it´s your turn to start doodling...Simon Says is our sponsor this week and the prize is fab as always. May you all have a happy weekend full of crafting! I´m going to an Easter market and I´ll try to get some cards, cakes and stuffed bunnies I made sold. I bought a Cuttlebug machine today and need more money to buy all the Nesties I want LOL.

Sweet ride with Princess Pony

How bad of me I almost forgot to post this cutie. I´ll enter this sweetie to the following challenges:
Quixotic Challenge #18: Monochromatic
Allsorts #44: Spring is in the Air
Fab ´n´ Funky #16: "It's all in the technique"
CCT #105: Dimensions!
Charisma Cardz #12: Spring has sprung
Passion for ProMarkers #44: Springtime creations with an animal
Simon Says: Easter or Spring and some GLIMMER!!!!

I made a card in shades of orange which is so not my style (has been happening a lot lately this "not my style kind of crafting"). The image is a Karen´s Doodle and I coloured it with Promarkers. The papers are from MME`s Bloom&Grow paper pad. I also made the flower from several white shop-bought flowers, just coloured them all with PM´s and added some glitter. I did a lot of distressing which actually is one of my favourite techniques.

Bye now, hope to see you later!

Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge #3 DT card

Where did the week go so fast? We are already at our third Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge. This time we have a theme...and the theme is as easy as Easter!

Karen has been busy doodling some gorgeous spring and easter themed images so go check what she has come up with. I used lovely A Present for Mom in my card. The image is perfect for both Easter and Mother´s day. As usual I did the colouring with my Promarkers. The layout is really simple...and that´s exactly how I planned it so that the image is the focus and not all the glitz and glamour one might add and pile on.

Ok, so enough with my babbling. You know the drill... make a card using a Karen´s Doodle following our Easter theme...easy peasy I might say. See you later!

Sketch Saturday #95

Hey, what can I say! I´ve been in the mood for some experimenting and stepping out of my comfort zone ...colourwise atleast.  Not sure I like this card at all, but thought I´d better show it anyway.

I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday. The papers are from MME´s Bloom&Grow paper pad and the WoJ image is coloured with Promarkers...wanted Willow to have vibrant red hair for a change. I did some paper piecing and coloured my white satin ribbon with PM´s again to match the rest of the card.

Orange and light blue do go together quite well don´t they?!!

Stamp with Fun #51 DT card

Happy monday! Here we are again with a new Stamp with Fun challenge. This week we have a theme and what theme would be more fitting than Easter!

My card is featuring an adorable Karen´s Doodles image, it´s called Bunny Girl and I used Promarkers to colour it. I really have fallen in love with this cutie, it so reminds me of my own little girl. The card´s fairly simple layout-wise, but as I´ve said before it would be a shame to cover and overpower an image that is just so stunning and cute in it´s own rights. So I added only a few fitting sentiments and a glittery butterfly as embellishment.

Start making your Easter themed projects as Easter really is just around the corner!

Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Call...two cards

So here´s my try at the WoJ GDT Call. I have the worst toothache ever, none of the painkillers I have work for more than a half hour, so I´m keeping this post as short as possible as I´m almost unable to think straight.

There was a recipe to follow and it went like this: Use 1 cardstock, 2 design papers, 1 button and 1 ribbon. I made two cards with the same layout, just a few differences in the layout of the image and I used different border punches and papers. I combined two stamps to make a scene. In the second (this is actually the card I made first) card I left out the birds and the background flowers are from the birdhouse stamp. I managed to smudge my ink as I was colouring, don´t really know why I´m always so impatient and can´t really wait for the ink to dry properly. That´s the reason why I made a second card, this time using brown ink and stamped the image with it´s lovely birdies and used a little less background.

The papers I used are from MME´s Wild Asparagus paper pad. I used Promarkers to colour the images and the ribbons and the sentiments are from WoJ. Even though I smudged the image on the first card I made I somehow liked it a lot and was unable to decide which card to have as my primary enrty, that´s why they are here both.

I´m off now to find a phonenumber for the dentist so I can try getting an appointment first thing in the morning...this ache really is unbearable.

Stamp Something DT card...something distressed

Hello and happy friday! It´s that time of the week again...and what time you might ask, time for yet another Stamp Something challenge of course LOL. This weeks theme is something distressed, so get your inks and scissors ready...anything you might use to make your project more aged and worn down or you might aswell go for a vintage look some other way.

This week we have Lacey from Stamp and Create as our sponsor. Lacey has been a sponsor before with her stamp line Wags n' Whiskers, but today she is joining us as Stamp and Create, her online shop. She has generously donated a $20 Gift Certificate to Stamp and Create for one lucky participant this week.

Ok so that´s for our sponsor...here´s ho my card came together. The image is from Wags n´ Whiskers and i have coloured it with Promarkers. I went a bit wild with the distressing part as you may have noticed. Inks and scissors and plane old tearing of the paper... I used it all. Those gorgeous dp´s are from MME´s Wild Asparagus paper pad and the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy. Some flowers and half pearls finish off my card.

So that was it. Start carfting people!

Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge #2 DT card

Hip hop hippity hop! Here we are with a second Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge. Thank you for all the lovely entry´s for our first challenge ever, let´s double the amount of entries for this one.

So we have a sketch for you to follow this time, a nice and simple one I might add.  Feel free to add embellishments and resize or flip the sketch, just remember to use one of your beloved KD images (I know some of you have been stocking up on KD images, great sale wasn´t it LOL).

I decided to use gorgeous Princess Pony on my card, isn´t she just the cutest riding her white horse. I coloured the image with Promarkers as usual and used my third new MS border punch for the lower part of the frame around the image. Papers are from MME´s Wild Asparagus paper pad. Some flowers, pearls and a sentiment finish of this lovely creation.

Get creative with us following the lovely sketch. Hope to see your creations soon!

Stamp with Fun #50 DT card

Happy monday, it´s time for yet another Stamp with Fun challenge. This week it´s time to get sketchy as we have a fabulous sketch for you to follow.

I finally managed to use one of my new Diane Duda digistamps I got from Sugar Nellie. Love those boy images...they are just perfect and completely what I needed as my stash was in a desperate need for something fitted for a boy. I coloured the image with Promarkers and used some papers from my new MME Bloom&Grow paper pad (I´m giving my BG papers a rest for a while). I didn´t really want to over embellish as my card is for a boy and just used some linen string and brads, that´s all.

At first I was a bit overwhelmed as the sketch was full of details and layers but as I started making my card it somehow came together on it´s own. So don´t be scared of the sketch and start crafting away!

Dabbling with some new goodies

I´ve been playing with some new goodies I got last week. The card´s not really my style but somehow I still like it a lot. It really does pay to think outside the box sometimes.

I found these plain coloured BG papers from my stash and decided to pair them with some black and white cardstock as it would make my card fit the colour challenge at Allsorts (pink, black and white). The borders are done with MS punc around the page punch set... and then I got my hands sticky with some VersaMark and UTEE. I had a go at cracked glass technique. First I stamped my WoJ image and coloured it with Promarkers...managed to smudge the ink a bit as I was in too much of a hurry to let the ink dry, but thought it wouldn´t show that much after I was done with all the melting and cracking of my UTEE... and then all the messy fun began. I did three layers on the image and I think it might have needed a fourth one, but as this was just my first attempt I didn´t mind that much about the end result not being perfect. The flowers on the background are also heat embossed, I used silver powder on them and coloured after embossing with Promarkers. Then just did some faux stitching and added pearls to the corners and voila my card was done!

I´d appreciate it if you´d let me know what you think of my card as it really isn´t my style at all...and there´s no need to be polite, I can handle it LOL.

Stamp Something DT card...cream and green

Hello crafting world! It´s time for yet another Stamp Something challenge. This week we´d like to see cards that follow a colour theme and that is cream and green. Again I couldn´t decide which photo was better so I thought I´d share them both LOL.

I went digi and printed Bigsby Juggling from Karen´s Doodles. The layout of my card is really simple, but I thought that fitted the image well. The sentiment is a mixture of me doodling and WoJ...I left the "birdie" part out and subtituted it with mouse, clever eh´.

I used some gorgeous MME Bloom&Grow papers and the decorative strip is done with a Martha Stewart border punch. These can actually be found at Bunny Zoe´s and guess what, Bunny Zoe´s is also our sponsor this week and the fabulous prize is a new Magnolia stamp and a bow easy bow tying tool.

Click the banner above to go do some shopping if you wish. And in order to have a chance at winning the prize start crafting your cream and green projects. As a side note I´m also entering this card to the following challenges, DDC #38 (boys only), Allsorts #42 (just for men) and CCT#103 (celebrations).

Happy and crafty weekend to all!

Love you, hug you

Hi all! I just heard some great news today, I had won the new store stamp kit from Whiff of Joy. YAY! But as I need to wait for a while for it to arrive here I made a card with one of my other favourite girlie images, it´s a Karen´s Doodle of course. This card fits the flower power challenge (with all the flowers and the sentiment) at Cupcake Crafts just perfectly...and the theme at Crafty Calender Challenge was also flower power, so this card goes there aswell.

And have you already made a card for our Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian challenge...if not I hope you´ll start crafting right away.

Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge #1 DT card

Oh yay! Today´s the day... our Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge is starting. We at the Scandinavian challenge wanted to start with a colour combo which is as follows...pink, blue and lime green. Scrummy colours aren´t they.

I used lovely Bunny Girl in my card and coloured the image with Promarkers. The gorgeous dp´s are from Basic Grey. And guess what... my project isn´t just a card, it has a surprise inside! The card opens up to reveal a note pad I made of photocopier paper. The vertical band that has the image on is also removable so you can use it around your gift.

I guess that was it for my project. Go check what the other DT ladies have come up with and maybe then shop for your own KD images (see the fab KD sale sign on my sidebar) `cause you need one to enter the challenge.

And wait...what about the prizes? To start with a bang Karen is offering some fabulous prizes for the winners. Just remember you have to use a Karen´s Doodles image to enter the challenge. So for our first Grand Opening Challenge, we have a BONUS PRIZE for the 1st place winner.

WoJ Challenge #69...coffee and some cream

I couldn´t decide which picture to show you so here they are both. I´ll let the pictures and the card do the talking, so just a quick post here. I made this card for the Whiff of Joy challenge where the challenge was in a form of a colour combo, coffee and cream. I went with a simple layout with lots of clean layers and added only a few pearls as embellishment. The image is so beautiful that I didn´t think it needed much decorating, the sentiment is from WoJ aswell.

Stamp with Fun #49 DT card

Another week is starting and we are getting closer to spring. It´s also time for another Stamp with Fun challenge. This time we have a theme to follow and the theme is...yes you guessed right...spring.

I chose to use one of my new WoJ stamps for my card, this cute Willow holding a bird´s nest. I used my PM´s for the colouring and the dp is from my Basic Grey Lily Kate pad. Against my better judgement I tried to do some machine stitching on the card. That wasn´t such a great idea, my sewing machine didn´t want to play along at all...as you can see in the picture, you don´t even have take a closer look. I used a paper flower as embellishment and coloured it (as it was white) with Promarkers and some ink to better fit the card. The sentiment is stamped on a diecut cardstock piece from K&Company. So that´s how my springtime card came together, start making your own project.

Karen´s Doodles and a challenge

If you have never come upon this cute girl then shame on you LOL! The lovely girlie is one of Karen´s Doodles. You just have to go check out her lovely doodles and don´t forget Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian challenge that starts next wednesday. There are actually four challenges starting next week (the scandinavian plus UK, US and Netherlands) so stay tuned on them also.

That was I guess that. So I actually made this card to fit the challenge at Simon Says, which was to make a creation for a baby girl, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma or a friend, just about anything as long as it was feminine. And this cutie sure is all that. The dp is from Basic Grey and the sentiment is from WoJ. A fairly simple creation but I thought that the image was sooo adorable that I didn´t dare to cover it up or take away the focus from it.

It´s starting to get really late now, I´ll be back tomorrow.

Stamp Something DT card...Something girly

Happy friday people! It´s time to Stamp Something. This week our theme is something girly ans us on the SS dt were lucky to get to work with some girlie images from our sponsor Sassy Studio.

Don´t you just love that image, it makes me want to relax in a bubble bath aswell...too bad we don´t have a bath tub.  I have coloured my image with Promarkers and added some sparkle to the bubbles. The sentiment is a rub-on from Basic Grey, the gorgeous turquoise paper is from BG also. A quick and simple card with only limited embellishments.... which ment that I had time to make another project with the same image, but just in a different size.

It´s a gift wrapper for some bath beads (which I didn´t have but used some pearls to be able to take the photo). These two form a nice present for a friend.

I can´t wait to see what kind of girlie projects you all come up with. So start crafting people!

It´s raining challenges and some rambling LOL

Here´s a card I made last night. I found a gorgeous inspiration picture (below) and colour combo from Colour Create and had to play along. Then it was all about finding a fun sketch... and of course I found what I was looking for at Sketch Saturday.

The image is one of my new stamps from Whiff of Joy. It´s quite funny how long it took for me to buy this cutie even though it was one of the images that really inspired me to start stamping. Oh well, now that I finally have her I know I´ll be using her often.

I coloured the image with Promarkers as I normally do and used a bit of distress ink to wear down the edges. I wanted a sharp look for my card and chose not to use my scissors for the distressing. The dp´s I used are from various Basic Grey pads, I can´t really remember from which ones as I have a huge pile of paper scraps I can´t seem to be able to throw away. I´ve been meaning to clean my desk and have a plan to colour coordinate my paper scraps into little boxes. Tiding up is really such a tidious job, don´t you think. I just wish I could have such a clean and orderly workspace as in the inspiration picture.

Ok so my rambling stops here, back to business...I mean my card. I think it goes to my list of favourites at the moment. It´s an ever changing list of course, but at the moment this cutie is at the top...atleast until the next great card comes along.

maanantai 1. maaliskuuta 2010

Some great news...Yay!

I got in...I´m so pleased and excited. Can´t really wait for what´s to come. I was chosen to be a part of the DT for Karen´s Doodles Scandinavian Challenge.

Gongrats to all the other talented ladies aswell. Our first challenge will be on the 10th of March, so in the mean time go check out all the gorgeous images Karen has for sale... but beware, you just might fall in love with her artwork LOL.

Stamp with Fun #48 DT card

Oh Boy! The weekend sure did fly by so fast. I was at work every day, but managed to make my DT card for Stamp with Fun the other night... and by saying night that´s exactly what I mean. So if my card´s not the best I´ve ever made I can blame it on the night time madness LOL. The sketch we had to follow really was a lot of fun though, so do go check it out and play along.

I got my order from Whiff of Joy last week and of course had to start inking up my purchases. This first that got made into a card is from the City Girl release. I used my Promarkers for the colouring and did lots of distressing on all the paper edges. The papers btw are from Basic Grey. The flower is my favourite part in this card. I coloured white paper flowers with PM´s and stamped them with a script background stamp.

So happy monday all and let´s start crafting!
